When we talk about nature there is so much to admire and praise like the breathtaking beauty of forests, landscapes, mountains, and not to forget the massive animal kingdom. We have heard about the most beautiful, fastest, and slowest animals ‘til now. However, this blog is all about the most bizarre animals existing in the world.
Stick Looking Like an Insect
The Phobaeticus kirbyi will haunt your nightmares if you have an insect fear, which many people do. This is one of the world’s longest insects, measuring almost 21 inches with its legs spread.
It can be found (or attempted to be found — Godspeed!) in Borneo.
AYE-AYE (Madagascar)
Madagascar is famous for having a wide variety of unusual animals, the majority of which are found nowhere else on the planet.
The aye-aye, with its bulging eyes, ever-growing teeth, and lengthy fingers, is an excellent example of this. It can be frightening, especially if you come face to face with one in the middle of the night in the woods!
Not Sure about Glass Slipper, But Here is a Glass Frog
You can look through the extraordinary glass frog just like you can see through glass. Many of these frogs have lime-green skin, but some do not have any color on their undersides, exposing their internal organs. Costa Rica and Panama are the finest places to see this tree-dwelling frog.
Tortuguero National Park in Costa Rica offers an excellent chance of viewing one in all its translucent splendor.
Their speckled backs are equally stunning, with experts speculating that they are supposed to resemble eggs, confusing predators stalking their larvae.
The Ancient Ones: Mantis Shrimp
Mantis shrimps are ancient, ferocious, and a touch strange. Mantis shrimp, in various incarnations, has been around for an estimated 400 million years and are unlike any other shrimp. Their appendages, known as “clubs,” are so powerful that they can break crab shells and bust open clams. (Some versions use spears instead of clubs, which are just as deadly.)
Pink Fairy Armadillo (Argentina)
These gorgeously strange creatures may be our personal favorites on the list!
The pink fairy armadillo is a tiny mammal that can only be found in central Argentina. In addition, it is so rare that scientists have not been able to assess its conservation status. These tiny armadillos, which are small enough to fit in the palm of a human hand, are nocturnal and burrow under the earth.
Due to their timidity, they are tough to spot, but if you want to try, central Argentina is the place to go.
